Mobile Hotspot comes to the BlackBerry Curve 9360 through the OS 7.1

mozoot-bb71Since the OS 7.1 was announced, there have been a number of rumors about it that reached us. Now, here’s another one and might top off all other rumors. A new report is said that the BlackBerry OS 7.1 will be bringing mobile hotspot functionality to the BlackBerry Curve 9360.

Research in Motion is facing one if it’s hardest times right now and keeping up with competition like introducing awesome features like this one may be the solution to the declining market share of the Canadian-based company.

T-Mobile myTouch and myTouch confirmed!

T-Mobile has today announced that it will be adding two new phones to their lineup pretty soon. The two phones will be bearing the name myTouch and myTouch Q and will be made available next month.
Both phones will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and both will be equipped with a single core 1 GHz processor. Both devices will be sporting a 5 megapixel camera that can record 720p HD videos on-the-go.
The only difference between the two will be their screens. The myTouch will feature a 3.8 inch multitouch screen while the MyTouch Q will feature a 3.5 inch display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Huawei announces MediaPad Android Tablet by the end of 201

Announced months ago, the Huawei MediaPad Android tablet is now confirmed to be released by the company to the US come 4th quarter of this year while Malaysia will be getting the device as early as next month.
As a reminder, the Huawei MediaPad sports a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor and will be running Android 3.2 Honeycomb out of the box. It’s screen will be sized at 7-inch and will be an IPS touchscreen display.
A 1.3 megapixel camera is fitted in the front for video calls, while a 5 megapixel camera is placed on the back for whatever purpose you might use it for. The device will retail for $473 upon release.

The Pantech Breakout 4G now official on Verizon

Here’s another 4G LTE smartphone that’s worth looking at. The Pantech Breakout is now confirmed on Verizon and is packing a decent list of specifications that gives you a cheaper alternative but with capabilities not too far from the headliners.
The Pantech Breakout sports a 1 GHz processor (single-core) and will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box. It’s screen comes in the form of a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with a pixel resolution of 480 x 800. It comes with support for Google Mobile services and a virtual QWERTY keyboard featuring SWYPE is loaded into the phone.
The device will be available come September 22 and will be priced at $99 when you sign up for a two-year contract with Verizon.

Verizon has finally confirmed the Droid Bionic being released tomorrow, only it comes with a slight problem, it is priced at $300 with a two-year contract which may prove to be a hindrance to some. However, if you are to look at its specs, we can say that it is still reasonably priced as it is packing some serious power.
For those who don’t know, the Droid Bionic sports a 4.3-inch qHD Gorilla glass screen, and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor supported by 1GB of RAM. An 8 megapixel capable of shooting 1080p HD videos is fitted at its back while front facing camera is installed for video calls. A 32 GB memory storage is divided in half, 16GB being built-in, while the remaining 16GB on a micro SD card.
So there you go, you can go ahead and visit your nearest Verizon dealer if you’re interested.

U.S. Cellular offering the HTC Merge for $149.99

Regional network service provider U.S. Cellular is now offering the HTC Merge for $149.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and mandatory data plan. The HTC Merge features a 3.8 inch capacitive touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera and slide out QWERTY Keyboard.

Apart from this, the netowrk has announced that it will be offering the LG Genesis starting 9th of June and will be priced the same as the Merge at $149.99.

The LG Genesis comes with a dual touchscreen measuring at 3.2″ and 3.5 inches for its internal and external screens respectively. The device also sports a 5 megapixel camera and a QWERTY keyboard.

Both devices will run Android 2.2 Froyo upon release.

3 Million preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S 2 and climbing!

The much awaited Samsung Galaxy S 2 has confirmed to have reached 3 million preorders, 2 million of which are from Korea while the remaining spread out all over the world. It looks as though Samsung would have a hard time reaching their 10 million year-end target as it is already on a very good start.

To those who don’t know, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and will sport a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 480 x 800. An 8 and 2 megapixel camera will be fitted for its rear and front cameras respectively.

As far as connectivity goes, the Galaxy S 2 supports Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and even an NFC. The usual sensors are present in the device which include Light, Accelerometer, Proximity and more.

Verizon Wireless to drop it’s one year contract options for its subscribers

Sources that got a hold of a leaked document from Verizon Wireless suggests that it may be eliminating their one-year contract option for its subscribers permanently starting April 17th. Verizon Wireless is known to offer 1 year and two year contracts to its subscribers. Mobile phones that are purchased with a one year contract is priced $50-$100 more than when it is on a two year contract which mostly attracts people who like to change their phones often.

The document also suggest that the one year option will be retained for its corporate accounts and select Verizon employees.

Samsung Galaxy S 2 will sport a 1.2Ghz dual core processor

Samsung itself has confirmed that the new Galaxy S 2 will be sporting a processor speed like no other in the smart phone industry. The new smartphone will be powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex A9 CPU. This screams top of the line when it comes to features it could carry.

The Samsung Galaxy S 2 will still be sporting a Super AMOLED display like its predecessor. It will also be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread as well as the TouchWiz 4.0 UI

No word on its actual release date though, but we could expect this new beauty to come very soon.

Death Rally for the iPhone features the same old PC classic game

Remedy Entertainment has just released the Death Rally for the iOS. It’s got the same gun wielding, rocket launching, car bashing racing fun as its classic PC version.

It was first released back in 1996 for the PC and features vehicular slaughter through an army of aspiring drivers armed with missiles and a death wish. Similar to the classic game, you will work your way to the top of the deathmatch ring by avoiding a barrage of weapons and homing rockets.
